This design minimizes energy absorption and unwanted resonance, preventing distortions that can affect musical clarity. Unlike heavier plinths that may transfer motor or bearing noise to the record, the Planar 3’s use of braces allows for double-thickness phenolic resin in critical areas while reducing overall plinth weight, resulting in cleaner, more accurate sound reproduction.
