Rega Strobe Speed Evaluation Tool

$155.00

Description

This precision tool is designed to measure the speed accuracy of any turntable. The handheld strobe emits a 100 Hz pulsed light, which works in conjunction with the included 180-line stroboscopic disc. Ideal for use with the speed-adjustable Rega Neo PSU, simply place the disc on your turntable mat and set the player to 33⅓, 45, or 78 RPM. Hold the strobe light above the disc lines to assess rotation speed. When lines appear stationary, the speed is correct; slow clockwise movement indicates the turntable is running too fast, while slow anticlockwise motion signals it is too slow. For precise evaluation, use a fixed reference point near the disc to observe line stability. If your turntable’s speed is adjustable, use this feedback to fine-tune it. For non-adjustable Rega models, replacing the drive belt can correct minor speed discrepancies; significant variations may indicate mechanical issues such as bearing lubrication or missing components. Consult your Rega dealer for service or parts if needed.
